Prerequisites:

Instructor:

Dibble, Bonnie

Description:

This course examines US history from its discovery through the Reconstruction Era, including colonization, Revolutionary War, founding documents, manifest destiny, and the Civil War. In addition to learning the history of the US, emphasis will be placed on US geography, the US Presidency, the US Constitution, and current events. The development of writing skills will also be emphasized throughout the course. We will be using the textbook, but with a biblical worldview in mind. The primary goal of this class is to provide students with a thorough knowledge and understanding of early US History from a biblical worldview. Students will be encouraged to not only learn history but learn how to think about history with a Christian perspective. For those students who choose to do so, they will also prepare for the CLEP test of the History of the United States I, which may give them college credit.
