Description:

A pass/fail course designed to enhance thinking and learning skills for high school students. Topics of study include: strategies for becoming organized and independent; reading better and faster; overcoming test anxiety; increasing academic performance.

This class is for students who want to increase the efficiency of their learning.  Participants will explore and strengthen their own thinking skills as they intentionally investigate thinking as a discipline and apply the principles learned.  The materials are novel, not content-driven and will appeal to students who may be struggling, who may want to improve their overall academic performance or speed.

Parents can usually expect to see increased self-confidence, better time management/organizational skills, and increased initiative in students completing this class.  Parents are encouraged to observe.

Supplies:

Students will need a clear cover (1.5-2”) binder to be used exclusively for cognitive skills. Approximately 10 inserts with tabs will be used to organize the class material. Students will also need mechanical pencils and great erasers.

Teacher Notes:

CLASS FEE: $34.25.  – $34.25 Class fee covers student materials needed and  R. Feuerstein’s Standard Instrumental Enrichment (which is ordered by instructor for a price break) to be given out in class.
