Students begin the school year learning the proper techniques for typing. Next they will become familiar with the basic principles and terminology of computer technology. MS Office software application skills will be taught. Students will gain practice in using key applications: Word, Excel, & PowerPoint, as well as understanding social and ethical issues in the cyber world.
Supplies:
1.) To be brought to class each week: Personal Laptop PC with current operating system Windows 8 or 10 or Mac OSX (Note: Not all features of Microsoft Office work well on a Mac. A PC is preferred over a Mac. Also, Chromebooks DO NOT WORK AT ALL for this class)
2.) Microsoft Office 365 or a recent version of Office installed on their computer. (Note: Though Microsoft has a “free” online, version, students will not be able to use it to do many things we do in class.)
3.) A USB drive – 8 GB is sufficient
