Algebra 1 This course will develop the understanding needed to resolve more complex algebra problems and functions with this step-by-step instruction. Topics included, but not limited to, in this course are signed numbers, exponents, and roots; absolute value; equations and inequalities; scientific notation; unit conversions; polynomials; graphing; factoring; quadratic equations; direct and inverse variations; exponential growth; complex fractions; and probability. Students will learn in small doses at their own pace while increasing retention of knowledge using an incremental approach to math. Students who have not previously enrolled in a math course at CEC are required to complete a $30 placement test. Students previously enrolled in CEC Algebra ½ (Pre-Algebra) classes need not take this placement test.
