Junior Joshua Pym became the first CEC student ever to win an Indiana Scholastic Regional Chess Championship
Junior Joshua Pym became the first CEC student ever to win an Indiana Scholastic Regional Chess Championship, which he did in Evansville on January 11, 2020. With this victory he becomes one of only 16 statewide qualifiers for the state championship in Indianapolis later this month. “Joshua is a gifted young man, the possessor of an unusually high aptitude for chess. He has also put in the hard work necessary to develop his talent and hone his skills to the level he has so far achieved. It has been a pleasure to watch him grow over the last two years!” – Coach Porter
Way to go Joshua!
