Chess Advanced

Prerequisites: Chess Fundamentals or permission from instructor. Advanced students build on fundamentals as they learn more advanced skills and strategies, in-depth study of openings theory, game analysis, chess history & studies of the great masters, etc. Weekly skills activities, online competition, and live practice are incorporated. Extracurricular tournament participation is encouraged but not required. Class may be taken as many times as you like since new content is rotated in each year.

Supplies: pocket-clip folder (or binder with pockets), several pencils, pen (red or blue)

CLASS FEE:  $25 fee (Applies to 1st year chess students ONLY). Some advanced chess students are also first-year students (by teacher approval) and still have to pay the fee. Class Fee covers a standard tournament style chess set as well as other class expenses.  No required text.
