Biography

Earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration-Accounting/Finance (Magna Cum Laude) from West Virginia State College (WVSC). During my last years at WVSC, I learned about Young Life (YL). YL’s effectiveness for reaching high school students for the Kingdom of God inspired me to introduce YL to the students in my town.  My 3 years as a YL Leader was life changing and gave me reason to earn a Master of Arts degree in Clinical Psychology from Wheaton Graduate School.

I have 15 years of clinical psychology experiences that include being a Licensed Social Worker and Certified Chemical Dependency Counselor, and a Psychotherapist/Social Worker for faith based and traditional treatment centers.  I contributed to the development of Experiential therapies for RAPHA Treatment Centers based on Robert McGee’s book, “The Search for Significance”.  Revised the presentation of Life Way’s “Forgiveness” booklet and seminar.  I developed and managed an Adult Chemical Dependency Day Hospital program and the Employee Assistance Program for Samaratian Health Care.  I worked for 3 years as a Director of Learning & Behavior Disorders for an alternative school and taught Emotional Disorder classes.

After 15 years in the profession of mental health, I made a career change and became a Safety and Operation Trainer in the building industry for 23 years.

Currently I’m on the board for Young Life Shelby County and volunteer as a leader during the school year. I am mentoring students by leading weekly Bible studies and teaching a larger group of students about Jesus once a week.
